​*Due to the COVID pandemic, LAUSD began running ventilation systems 24/7 to protect student and staff health. Prior to the pandemic, the District saw a 15% decrease in electricity use and a 5% decrease in natural gas use

  • Reduce the amount of potable water for non-potable use
  • ​Reduce groundwater pollution and replenish underground aquifers

Since 2013/14, LAUSD has conserved 3,785,053,107 gallons of drinking water, which is enough water to fill over 7,724 Olympic sized swimming pools 

High Performance Schools Goals:

  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and comfortable learning environment in energy and water efficient schools working with Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
