LAUSD Water Conservation Contest

Picture
To support Los Angeles’ efforts to conserve water, the District is hosted a drought awareness contest for students in Grades 1-12. Twelve teams won $10,000 toward a project at their schools by creatively demonstrating ways to Save the Drop!

The top teams in Elementary, Middle, and High School also won $50,000 toward a project at their schools.

Teams from across the District shared audio and video projects, science experiments, innovative ideas, awareness plans, and artwork.  Entries were judged by LAUSD Sustainability Initiatives staff and LADWP's Education and Energy Efficiency experts.  LADWP also provided stickers, bookmarks, table cards, and educational materials for registered teams, as well as the trophies awarded to the winning teams.

Participants also received reusable water bottles so they can take the Drop with them everywhere they go.

Thanks to everyone who participated and congratulations to the winning teams!

We are so proud of you!
